I’m Suneet Khurana — a physician by training, a mentor by passion, and the founder of Pioneer Clinical Research Career Coaching. I created this practice for one reason: to guide ambitious professionals like you into meaningful, fulfilling careers in clinical research.
But this wasn’t always the path I saw for myself.
My journey began in India, where I earned my Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) and taught Physiology to medical students. I loved the science — but more than anything, I loved the lightbulb moments. Watching someone go from confused to confident? That was everything. That’s where the seed for my career coaching work was planted.
After years of practicing Family and General Medicine in both private and public hospitals, I immigrated to Canada in 2005 — full of drive, credentials, and purpose… and still completely unprepared for how difficult it would be to start over.
That experience changed everything.
I made a strategic shift into clinical research and regulatory affairs, where I could continue contributing to healthcare in a new way — and I've never looked back. Since 2008, I’ve worked across 72+ clinical studies in major hospitals and research networks, guiding projects from startup to closeout in complex therapeutic areas. But more importantly, I’ve mentored hundreds of professionals behind the scenes — many of whom were just like me when I first arrived. That informal mentoring turned into a mission.
That mission turned into Pioneer Clinical Research Career Coaching.
Today, I support internationally trained physicians, graduates, career changers, and research professionals who are ready to move forward but don’t know where to start. My approach combines strategic clarity with real-world insight — helping clients build careers, not just get jobs.
